Do Good Together

Our annual Do Good Together fundraising campaign has begun! During the month of August, when you choose Complete Weddings + Events for DJ, photography, lighting or photo booth, 3% of your purchase goes to an important cause, PLUS you’ll be entered to win FREE videographer services at your wedding or event!

Complete Weddings + Events has been in partnership with Global Partners in Hope (GPiH) for the last six years, and 3% of sales is donated to our Do Good Together initiative every August. This money has helped build 5 clean water wells in remote areas of Mali and Togo, West Africa. Last year alone, we raised $50,000 with the help of Complete staff, customers and wedding partners.

In 2017, we shifted our focus from water wells to raising money to build a medical center in Togo. The money raised was dedicated towards building 2 rooms: The Neonatal and Women’s Recovery room. To accomplish this goal, we invited our wedding partners nationwide to participate and will do the same this year.

This fall, we’re raising the bar and have set a goal to raise $75,000 for the Do Good Together initiative and hope to hit $50,000 of that by the end of August. This year’s money will go towards helping GPiH bring their $3.2 million Medical Center campaign to completion. Once all of the money has been raised, then the construction of the medical center will begin.

In addition to raising money for these campaigns, we have sent a Complete team to Togo the past 4 years. There, our teams met the families, women and children being impacted by these efforts. We personally got to see lives being changed from the wells providing clean water to thousands of people in the area.

Global Partners in Hope, Complete Weddings + Events, and the Wedding Industry will continue working together to provide sustainable growth in the area of Togo, West Africa. Thank you for joining us on this Do Good Together campaign!

Tiffany and Kyle’s Wedding Day | The Christy, O’Fallon | Complete Weddings + Events | St. Louis

What a crazy summer we have had here in St. Louis!! With Fall creeping up on us we figured now would be a good time to start showing off some of our AMAZING summer wedding photos. First up, is Tiffany and Kyle's big day taking place at one of our favorite venues The Christy in O'Fallon, MO! The Christy just finished up with some remodeling for their lobby and event space and it looks absolutely beautiful. No wonder all of our brides have been talking about visiting Ron and his staff for his monthly food tastings! Tiffany and Kyle actually met Complete through one of The Christy's food tastings and right then and there they knew they wanted us to provide our unparalleled DJ and Photography services for their wedding. DJ Stephen Perry brought the party, as he always does, but Tiffany and Kyle's guests were more than ready to party all night from the looks of some of these photos! Our photographer Dino Kanlic did a superlative job at bringing their vision to life. They traveled from The Arch to Forest Park all the way to the reception in O'Fallon! Another huge shoutout to Ron and his staff at The Christy for coming together with us and making it a perfect night for Mr. and Mrs. Dibler <3 <3 Congratulations you two!

Wedding Planning Mistakes to Avoid

Planning a wedding can be overwhelming and time seems to fly during the process! Because things come at you fast in this time, it’s easy to make a few mistakes. You may be trying to save money or time, but there are just some things you shouldn’t cut corners on! Here are a seven mistakes to avoid:

1. Assuming Invited Guests Will RSVP “No”

There’s a good chance that you’ve created a list of people you’re going to invite and a list of people you expect to attend. You may even give your caterer and reception venue a number of attendance based off of the people you expect to say “no”! However, there are going to be a few people that will likely surprise you and end up attending your wedding. Don’t count anyone out, if you don’t want to exceed a number of guests then simply don’t invite those guests!

2. Allowing Others to Tell You Who to Invite

If you’ve already decided on a wedding venue, then you’re likely limited to the amount of people you can invite to your wedding. Plus, with catering and other expenses it may be expensive when you start inviting every single person you’ve ever met! With that being said, remember that your wedding IS your wedding after all. You go ahead and invite who you want to invite, and don’t let others tell you who you should/shouldn’t invite!

3. Skipping the Hair/Makeup Trial Run

You never truly know what you’ll look like after the hair/makeup makeover until all is said and done. So, shouldn’t you at least go in and try things out to make sure you have the look you’re going for? Makeup artists and hairstylists create dramatically beautiful looks, but if all that eye shadow and volume isn’t you, make those decisions ahead of time.

4. Allowing Cellphones During the Ceremony

Your ceremony should only include one photographer, the one you hired. (Hire two professional photographers if you want extra stunning shots!) Trust us, no one else will capture a better picture, and someone is bound to forget to turn their phones on silent and keep the flash off. The LAST thing you want is for your great aunt to ruin the ceremony by blinding the officiant with her iPhone’s flash!

5. Letting Others Talk You into Traditions You Don’t Want!

The chicken dance, the dollar dance, receiving line, etc. There are so many things that could go into a wedding that you either love or you hate. With that being said, if you’re all for the chicken dance at your wedding, don’t let anyone tell you to cut it! However, if you can’t stand the dollar dance and everyone tries to tell you to add it, don’t listen to them! This night is about YOU; don’t allow anyone to sway your opinion.

6. Second Guessing Choices Made

With so many choices being made and so many options, it can be easy to second guess decisions you’ve already made. If you second guess the choices you’ve already made, then all you’ll be doing during your planning process is second guessing! We urge you to be sure of the choices you make, but once you make those choices be confident in them! Otherwise you’ll only add stress to the process.

7. Not Hiring Top Notch Vendors

The vendors you hire act as a team on your wedding night. One weak link on the team could ruin all the great plans you’ve set for the evening. Don’t cut corners when it comes to hiring wedding vendors. Be sure they work well together, are super-experienced with weddings, and have great reviews!

We hope these tips will help ease your wedding planning. We urge you to be sure of your decisions made, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Most importantly, have fun throughout the process because it only happens once!
